Toulouse School of Economics is consistently ranked world-wide in the top-3 league in economic research in the non-English speaking world. It is field wise ranked number 1 in the world in the economics of incentives, in Europe in industrial organization, in environmental economics, in business economics and in public economics, and now also leading in finance and macroeconomics in Europe. The participation of TSE in ECOCEP will be coordinated through the TSE unit LERNA specialized in environment and natural resources economics, in particular in water and energy. The other research topics investigated at LERNA are economics of environmental risks and precaution, in particular, analysis of risks cost & profit, relationship between growth and environment (from a sustainable development point of view), and environmental public regulation. LERNA is the best research centre in environmental and resource economics in France and one of the most excellent ones in Europe. International cooperation is an important part of world-class research conducted at TSE.
