Charles University in Prague (CUNI)

Charles University, founded in 1348, is according to the 2012/13 QS World Ranking (ranked 286) the best university in the new member countries of the EU. Its QS ranking in economics is 151-200. The three participating CUNI units, the Institute of Economic Studies (IES), CERGE and the CUNI Environment Center are engaged in world-class economic research and education. The economics program at CUNI is together with the one at NES in Moscow the best among all post-communist European countries in terms of the quality of education and economic research. The CUNI unit CERGE was ranked 54th out of 1236 economics departments and research centres worldwide by SSRN in January 2013, which is the highest rank among all new member countries of the EU. It also ranks among the top 10% economic departments / research institutions in Europe based on the RePEc rankings.
