Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei (FEEM)

Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei is a leading international centre in environmental and resource economics since its foundation in 1989. One of its aims is to promote interaction between academic, industrial and public policy spheres in order to comprehensively address concerns about economic development and environmental degradation. To this end, FEEM has signed an impressive number of research contracts with external researchers and institutions, an internationalization rate which is unparalleled in Europe: 70% of the contracts involve foreign researchers and research centres, thus creating an extensive network of scientific co-operation.

The FEEM’s international research network involving the best researchers and top research institutions in energy and climate change economics projects allows FEEM to remain acquainted with the state-of-the-art of scientific knowledge, to spread its results more widely and to further develop its human capital by international cooperation. The FEEM global impact is quite impressive: at the time of its 20th birthday, FEEM was linked via joint projects, partnerships or associations with over 600 research institutions operating in 90 countries.
