Irkutsk State University (ISU)

Irkutsk State University is the oldest University in the Russian Asian Regions of Eastern Siberia and Far East. It is among the top 10% of Russian universities. Due to its proximity to the unique Baikal Lake, it is historically the leading Russian centre in water ecology and environmental economics in general. ISU participates in an international project on an integrated system of research, instruction, information and documentation of water resources of Siberia, the Altai region, the Republics of Central Asia, Mongolia, China, Japan, France and Switzerland.

ISU currently collaborates with 66 international partners and runs joint programs with partners in neighbouring Asian countries, Europe, US and Australia. The economics department at ISU already established close relationship with CUNI and it is implementing teaching and research methods as practiced at the most advanced universities in post-communist countries like CUNI and NES.
