McGill University (MCGILL)

McGill University ranked 18th in the world in the QS World Rankings in 2012, maintaining its position among the top 20 universities globally, and as Canada's top university, for the ninth consecutive year. It is included in the list of world 100 top universities in economics according to the Tilburg University Economics Ranking. Both Economics and Agricultural Economics faculty at McGill is involved in ECOCEP. The McGill Department of Economics provides visiting ECOCEP researchers with access to other Montreal universities through its membership in CIREQ (Inter-University Centre for Research in Quantitative Economics). CIREQ is a group of researchers from Concordia and McGill and Université de Montréal which fosters quantitative economic research in Montreal through visitors, seminar series, conferences and by encouraging co-operation and joint research.

The unique position of McGill as a leading Canadian-English-speaking university in French-speaking Montreal enabled the McGill faculty to develop important international cooperation especially with the best US, UK, Australian and French universities in economic and other areas of studies related to natural resources.
