The University of Auckland (UA)

The University of Auckland is the largest and both domestically and internationally most prestigious university in New Zealand. According to the QS World Ranking it was the 83rd best university in the world in 2012. QS placed it in the [51-100] bracket in economics in 2012. The UA Department of Economics is one of the largest in New Zealand and while being the top economics department in New Zealand, it is also among the top economics departments in the whole Australasia. The energy economics research is conducted by faculty members in the Energy Centre, which is a part of the Department of Economics.

UA has over 100 Memoranda of Understanding with research institutions around the world, including top universities from Australia, Canada, China, Germany, Japan, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the United States. UA is also a member of the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU), Universitas 21 (U21) and the Worldwide Universities Network (WUN).
