Day-ahead electricity price

Regarding the price of electricity on the market, researchers investigated the day-ahead electricity market forecasting. It leads to the development of a method to ascertain medium-term and long-term price and quantities forecasting of electricity using regression models.

The new model takes into account non-linear effects, time lags, and time influence. The data for the period from 2007 to 2015 in Russia, upon which the quantitative estimates have been made, unveiled the most significant factors. The robustness of the results has been tested, notably by a comparison of estimates obtained by the model at different time intervals.

The result tells that the impact of some variables is stable.
