Variation in the secondments schedule might occur. The ECOCEP Secretariat is obliged to report certain variations on the schedule to the European Commission (EC). EC retains every right to refuse proposed variations.
Acceptable variations:
- Move a secondment (without altering the duration and/or destination) within the budget period*
- Replace a researcher (without altering the secondment) by another staff-member of your home institute
- Reduction of the secondment duration (as long as it does not affect the (scientific) quality of the research and does not interfere with official deliverables)
- Extension of the secondment duration (as long as your home institution has months left to spend - the total amount of months to spend cannot be exceeded; each researcher may be supported with maximum 12 months altogether)
Variations that need to be reported (and could thus be refused):
- Change of destination
- Moving a secondment past the budget period*
*The IRSES contribution is remitted in two periods:
- Period 1: 1st January 2014 – 31st December 2015
- Period 2: 1st January 2016 – 31st December 2017
